Data Ownership Protocol has another exciting deployment to tell you about: we’re joining X Layer and natively integrating into the OKX Wallet.
X Layer unites OKX and Ethereum, creating lasting bridges that mean moving wealth from one blockchain to another becomes a lot less cumbersome.
Dozens of dApps have already joined X Layer — including DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, multi-chain wallets, games and oracles — making it a one-stop-shop for crypto enthusiasts.
Given OKX has more than 50 million users, this collaboration means DOP will be able to roll out powerful selective transparency features to an even wider audience.
What’s more, $DOP will now be embedded in OKX Wallet, meaning newcomers can gain access to our native token in a couple of taps through dedicated apps for smartphones and the web, plus browser extensions.
OKX Wallet boasts support for cryptocurrencies across more than 60 major blockchains, and enables users to take full ownership of their assets in a perfect alignment with our values.
An elegant interface means swaps between digital assets are seamless, with sophisticated aggregators scouring the market for the best prices. All of this, when coupled with a simple on-ramp for fiat payments, greatly reduces hassle for beginners who are interacting with crypto for the first time.
X Layer was launched in April 2024, and is powered by zero-knowledge proofs. Full compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine means smart contracts and dApps from other networks can be rolled out here — and DOP is taking advantage of this.
It’s been built using the Polygon Chain Development Kit, meaning this infrastructure benefits from fast finality times and unified liquidity. Given scalability has been a long-running industry concern, this is an encouraging step in the right direction.
Overall, X Layer is positioning itself as a portal to Web3 — and as adoption grows, DOP’s goal is to ensure anyone can take steps to shield their transactions and token balances.
High gas fees have also prevented countless users in emerging economies from interacting with Layer 1 networks, and experiencing the power of digital assets for themselves. Costs on X Layer are much lower by comparison, making blockchains financially viable for all. Enhanced zkSNARK cryptography reduces the amount of data taken up by transactions, resulting in a smoother experience for users and developers alike.
By collaborating with X Layer and natively integrating with OKX Wallet, Data Ownership Protocol is joining the world’s largest Web3 community — a vibrant ecosystem where developers have access to advanced technology stacks. This hub for innovation will enable DOP to achieve its full potential, and we’ve barely scratched the surface when it comes to potential use cases for selective transparency.
It’s also hot on the heels of our native integration with Bitcoin.com, another milestone that will introduce our technology to millions of new users. Broadening access to our protocol is an encouraging step to making the encryption of cryptoassets industry standard, while achieving compatibility with a greater number of coins, tokens and NFTs.
Our ambition is to ensure that DOP establishes a presence within some of the biggest and most trusted names in the crypto world today, meaning their users can access our protocol without needing to deal with even more logins and wallets.
With new features regularly being unveiled on our mainnet, Hacken performing an in-depth security audit, and a multimillion-dollar grants program launching for developers, there’s plenty to be bullish about as we head into the final few months of 2024.
